Clearing Water Bodies
Site : Lake at Chauka, Ch. Sambhaji Nagar, Marathwada
A lake was desilted by Indivish Welfare Foundation in collaboration with local NGO Prerana Foundation under the government scheme Galmukta DharanGal yukta Shivar(GDGS). It not only created water storage capacity but also increased the water table in the area. Sarpanch Mr.Santosh Wagh is glad to share that the availability of water made the second crop possible in a year. The silt spread in the fields reduced the input cost for fertilisers and due to nutrient soil the quality of crop improved.
There is also rise in cattles in nearby villages. Financial gain, conservation of eco system and many happy faces.
